Bus Schedule: Tracopa to & from San Isidro de El General of Pérez Zeledón

Transportes Costarricenses Panameños (commonly known as TraCoPa) is, as its name suggests, a public transport company with buses that transport passengers between Costa Rica and Panama. Tracopa's services are very popular among not only locals but also foreigners needing to do a return border crossing in South Pacific Costa Rica to extend their tourist visas. 

• Tracopa's San Isidro Office Opening Hours: 4:30 AM to 7:00 PM 
• Address Along the West side of the Interamerican highway, between the highway and San Isidro de El General, Pérez Zeledón city center cathedral. 
• Remote contact: Telephone 2771-0468. It is wonderful that they offer a Whatsapp contact number also; 7298-3342 (for complaints). Email address is info@tracopacr.com. However, I got a very slow and un-useful, albeit polite response by email.

It is worth re-checking Tracopa's bus schedule from San Isidro de El General from time to time as the service. For instance, during part of 2017, travelers were once able to travel direct from San Isidro directly to Paso Canoas (the border town where they can pass through immigration). However, Tracopa's routes and schedule subsequently changed to the extent that travelers boarding their bus in San Isidro can go only as far as Ciudad Neily, a small town that is 30 - 45 minutes away by a third party bus service or 25 - 30 minutes by taxi.

You can board anywhere along Tracopa's bus route. 
Although this is a long 5-hour route, the driver will stop for you along the route. This is useful for persons who, for whatever reason, could not board the bus from San Isidro.

The downside to this however is that, if all of the seats are taken, you will have to stand up for the long trip. However, if you bought a ticket beforehand, you will be entitled to your assigned seat. It should also be noted that the route is the same regardless of where you board and get off.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that Tracopa took the initiative to offer a Whatsapp contact number which proves faster and cheaper than their conventional office numbers.
